Summary and Overview
Under the supervision of the firm’s Partners, the Project Architect will play a key role in project management and drawing production - from concept meetings with clients all the way through construction. Within this position, a typical day at work might involve developing design ideas, product specification, coordination with consultants, contractors, and clients, as well as internal project management. Site visits and walk-throughs are a regular part of the job and occur as necessary. We work in a collaborative environment and often bounce ideas off each other, jointly design, and problem-solve together.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage, review, and produce schematic, design development, and construction documents for projects of wide ranging size.
- Mentor and manage junior staff and student interns.
- Coordinate project documentation execution, construction plans and details, and consultant team while ensuring quality control and completion
- Demonstrate creativity, foresight, and professional judgment in solving architectural issues
- Lead coordination meetings with consultants, clients, and within office
- Coordinate engineering systems integration with architectural aspects of projects
- Review shop drawings, material samples, and CDs
- Perform & oversee construction observation duties
- Collaborate with design team on all aspects of residential projects
- Manage projects
Position Requirements
This position requires a combination of education, experience, skills, and abilities, including but not limited to:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture
- 3+ years experience in the high-end residential market / custom homes
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to manage project workflow
- A positive can-do attitude and great sense of humor!
Preferred Skills + Certifications
- Pursuit of licensure if not already licensed
- NCARB certification
- Proficiency in design software including experience with Rhino, SketchUp
Compensation + Benefits:
Salary range of $75,000 - $90,000 DOE.
