About This Project
This was a complicated project from a zoning perspective since the building exceeds what the Town of Darien would usually allow. The shape of the building was dictated by its position on Post Road and how it can approached from multiple angles. Highway traffic meets the building head-on when exiting the off ramp, so it needed a strong brow to stand out. The building is clearly visible by local north and southbound traffic, so we developed a classic and impressive roof line indicative of the charm of the area. We wanted to cultivate a building representative of the welcoming nature of Darien as a positive entrée to the charismatic downtown area.
