Although we briefly explored the idea of renovating the center-hall colonial that existed on this Darien CT site, we quickly realized that a new home would better suit our client’s needs. This new Farm House Colonial style home is about 7000 s.f. The main goal for this client was to develop a home that looked as if it belonged on the tree lined property. Even though it was constructed from scratch, the house gives the appearance of having history and even seems as if it has been there for years. This is evident from the collage effect of both the front facade and rear view. Components of the collage include the colonial main body, the stone garage attached to the house and the detached barn structure. Beautiful detailing was utilized to make both the exterior and interior into an exquisite yet comfortable home. Views of the expansive yard make the large Kitchen/Family Room a perfect place for family gatherings. Light was captured in small spaces, like the main stair, to help flood the entire floor plan with natural brightness.
