When we first toured this space, it was a raw industrial building with spare windows strewn around the floor. The original intension was to create a simple retail space from which to sell imported cheeses and olives. The plan slowly evolved and we began to develop a more comprehensive Market which would ultimately become a regular stopping point for many of the local residents of Georgetown, a small hamlet of Redding CT. The new concept involved not just a retail store, but also incorporated an eating area and cooking facilities. In the end, we created a rustic, Tuscan feel for the interior and coupled that with a charming new façade that we laid over the concrete block building that existed, even using the windows that we found in the back room!
