Our clients were moving from overseas and fell in love with a remote woodland property on a long narrow lake that offered views of a waterfall and island. Renovating the existing house was discussed, but in the end, RAC designed a new home to be built on an alternate piece of the lot with plenty of manicured terracing. Being drawn to modern architectural elements such as black windows, stucco siding, metal roof and a clean interior layout resulted in a truly beautiful design.
It’s easy to jump on trends when it comes to things like furniture and lighting fixtures – but the decision can be daunting when it comes to more permanent items like windows, roofing and siding. Highly realistic computer renderings allow clients to under stand the home in the third dimension and start to get excited abotu their future home! When black windows were just gaining popularity in New England, these renderings allowed the client to compare black windows to traditional white. What might have seemed a bold choice actually helped the home blend more naturally with its heavily wooded lot, particularly during twilight hours.
