Cardello Architects earned an A-List Award for Historical Home Renovation in 2013 for their wonderful 10,000 s.f. waterfront project in Greenwich, CT. Despite the house being poorly maintained over the years, the character, details, and ornate millwork created by the original designer couldn't be ignored. Interestingly, Robert Cardello had been invited to renovate the house in 1999 by a previous owner, but the project was put on hold. Twelve years later, the new owner contacted Cardello Architects, and upon reflection, Cardello took a different direction than his original drawings (found in the basement). The redesign was more sympathetic to the original architect's ideas, using beautiful details and finishings to recreate this Gatsby-like waterfront estate.
