In 2020, an old 1950’s brick home was purchased in Darien with the intention of transforming it into a modern oasis.  The homeowner worked hand in hand with our team, framing the design aesthetic in the lens of West Coast Style homes.  The renovation focused on creating an indoor-outdoor relationship and a modernized floor plan for a family seeking a clean, comfortable living space.

Strong attention to landscape design was given to crafting a front entry that feels woven in with the lawn – all despite the difficult topography. The entry sequence boasts a foyer with a balcony and an immediate relation to the living room. Copious glass throughout the home enables a continual connection with the outdoors.

The family room truly embodies the indoor-outdoor relationship with its connection to the pergola through a gorgeous bi-fold door. A skylight allows for natural light to settle in with the guests, creating a bright and welcoming atmosphere.
