In collaboration with PG Properties, we had the opportunity to work on a small lot in Rowayton, CT, which had two tiny dwellings that were destroyed during Hurricane Sandy. As the community is full of attractive coastal cottages, it was important to create new houses that were architecturally suited to the neighborhood. While the rear building was renovated, the front building design started from a clean slate(although we were forced to stay in the same footprint as the old structuer). This charming house is just 1,054 square feet, with a width of 22 feet and depth of 44 feet. Knowing this, the living space is comfortable and roomy, offering water views of Farm Creek. There are entries to the dwelling on multiple levels, and a beautiful three-story stairway is showcased through a large side window. The house includes two bedrooms, two full baths (one on each floor), a large laundry/storage room, and a spacious kitchen/family room with two balconies - providing plenty of room to entertain.
