Located in Westport, Connecticut, the Westport Gables are a contemporary take on the traditional gabled home. Designed by Cardello Architects in collaboration with Alice Black Interiors, Wesley Stout Associates, and RPM Home, the house balances a familiar, symmetrical exterior, marked by pitched rooflines and a restrained material palette and stucco siding with large steel-framed windows that bring in natural light and open the home to its surroundings.

The interiors build on this architectural clarity with a focus on comfort, brightness, texture, and livability. A series of bright, connected spaces flow easily from one to the next, while floor-to-ceiling glazing links the main living areas to the terrace, pool, and garden beyond.

Throughout, the interior design introduces softness and warmth, complementing the home’s clean lines with layered finishes, custom furnishings, and carefully considered details.

A light-filled stair element anchors the layout and creates a strong visual connection between levels. The result is a cohesive home where architecture and interiors work together, rooted in traditional forms, but thoughtfully adapted for modern life.
